The Blood They Shed

By April 2, 2013Uncategorized

I am currently working on directing a stage show set to debut this month in Hollywood.  Its called The Blood They Shed and its about the downfalls of media and technology and the lack of family social structure that we have in this day and age as well as the lessons of healing found in the history of those made a way for us to succeed.  The show has been a huge undertaking but extremely well worth the effort.

Before I started this project I was wanting something to really dig my teeth into.  Something i really cared about.  When the opportunity came up, i realized that this was chance to do something i love and do something that has meaning as well.  I think those opportunities are rare in our field.

So many times our creativity is dictated by deadlines, investors or someone else’ vision.  But when you have the chance to give of yourself completely, 110%, to a project because you want to and not because the rate is right, I really recommend that you jump on that opportunity.

I find that even self assigned assignments that are done for the sake of a portfolio piece carry a different motivation than something that gives your life purpose.  Those types of assignments are rare and beautiful.

If you are in LA on april 20th i recommend you come and see this powerful show that is both fun and thought provoking.
